Sun & Sea Collective is a bi-monthly
pop up market in the South Bay of Los Angeles. We create a space for small businesses, creatives, artists & makers to sell in-person to customers in their local community.

Sun & Sea Academy is an extension of the Collective where we focus on small business education & growth. We give you the tools to turn a hobby into something more, share your creative project with the world, make money doing what you love, and learn how to turn your dream into a successful business venture.

Meet the Founder

Sun & Sea Collective started in December of 2020 in a backyard in Redondo Beach. There were 12 vendors (mostly friends I begged to join my crazy vision), a DIY ribbon backdrop I threw together, my mom checking people in, a friend of a friend flipping burgers in the driveway… and about 350 customers who showed up excited to support their community.

From that first day I knew I had created something that small business owners in the South Bay not only wanted, it was something we all absolutely needed. And I couldn’t wait to see it grow.

My name is Jessica Hickerson and I am the founder of Sun & Sea Collective. I am also a part-time photographer, owner of a local apparel company called Esplanade Brand, and most importantly a mom to three little girls.

I came up with the idea of Sun & Sea Collective as an answer to my own need to find a way to sell Esplanade in person. It became a unique way for all kinds of small businesses to get in front of their own community. The first pop up market led to another two weeks later, and then 12 more in 2021, and from there it became a bi-monthly staple in the South Bay. We have popped up at The Point, local coffee shops and breweries like Offset & Strand, The Promenade PV, The Works El Segundo, and in the middle of Fiesta Hermosa. Every year we grow and change in an effort to best serve our local small business community.

We are looking for makers who sell unique items, handmade goods, or products they are crazy passionate about! A Sun & Sea Pop Up is not only a great place to make some extra money, but it is also a great networking opportunity!  All vendors are connected on social media and we use our platform to promote you and talk you up during the months leading up to the event.

FAQs

How do I become a Sun & Sea vendor?

Our vendors are small business owners, local artists and makers- people who like to dreame big! We are looking for people that make unique, quality products and handmade goods, who are excited to sell in person in a curated market environment. #KEEPITLOCAL

Vendor applications open about 6 weeks prior the market and are open for one week. We consider all applications and only accept the best 2-3 per category.

What is required for my booth?

Well first of all, you need a business and product. You also need an online presence (website or social media is fine, we just want to see your work). ​

At the market, full vendors need a 10x10 pop up canopy/ Ez Up, a table, chair, POS system, and a few more things, but don't worry we will guide you through the entire process! We will send you ideas on how to make your booth pop and so much more during the weeks leading up to the market.

How much does it cost and what does the vendor fee include?

Participation costs vary from $60- $150 depending on the location and size booth you select (10x10 Full Booth, Split Booth, or 6ft x 5ft Table Space.) This fee covers your booth fee as well as social media promotions leading up to the event. Once you're a vendor you're a part of the Collective forever! All fees must be paid within 48 hours of being accepted and they are non-refundable.

Applications for each market go live about 2 months before the pop up market. Vendors are confirmed via email 6 weeks before the event.
